A young quarterback produced a video and put it up on Youtube to demonstrate his incredible accuracy when throwing the ball. He amazed thousands of people and impressed some NFL clubs talent scouts.

This has all resulted in a chance for Alex Tanner to go from the very tiny Monmouth College in Illinois all the way to training camp with the Buffalo Bills.

His video has been watched by nearly two million people so there must be quite a few wondering if they will see him on the field on TV sometime. You can watch his amazingly accurate throws in the video below.

The Bank say it is because they have a duty to comply with Federal Law to ensure all employees are trustworthy but you cannot help but wonder if this is the correct interpretation of that law. She may have commited an offence but she has, apparently, been on the straight and narrow ever since. It seems a little harsh to be punished still for something like that forty years ago.

Nobody wants to see criminals running banks but after what the banks have done in recent years it seems like a shoplifting offence 40 years ago is a lot less untrustworthy than many people in charge of the banks.

I am sure we all have that little worry as we cross a railraod crossing that our car will break down and we will get hit by a train. We have to cross railroad tracks and we do it without problems thousands of times but there is always that worry at the back of our minds.

When a truck tried to cross the tracks at a crossing in Kings Mountain it got stuck and no amount of spinning the wheels would shift it. With a huge freight train bearing down on it the driver jumped clear and the train sliced straight through the middle of the truck and cut it in half.

Fortunately nobody was injured but the truck driver must have had an interesting conversation with his boss. Can you imagine trying to explain what happened and how your truck gor wrecked?

The video below shows the events as they happened and you might want to turn your sound down as there is a woman screaming, very loudly, to the truck driver to jump clear.

It has been a question man has asked himself since the dawn of time. What is life? Well today we have the answer. You are alive if the computer says so and if the computer says you are dead then you face some big challenges trying to convince Banks, Credit Card companies and even the authorities that you do in fact exist and you are alive.

There was a story recently about a man who was unable to get a mortgage because he had been declared dead by the computers used to check credit history. It goes to show that these computer problems are a real issue for the people concerned.

Today there are reports of a student who discovered when he was applying to colleges that the computers were reporting that he was deceased. It must be more than a little worrying when you are a high school senior looking forward to the rest of your life.

It appears that all it takes is a misplaced digit in the records as the students scoial security number had been recorded as being used in an application for a death benefit claim in January 2010. He first discovered there were problems when he applied for a car loan which was refused and now he has problems getting a college loan.

Read more on this story at khastv.com

There was another story recently about a woman who was marrying for the first time but discovered she was recorded as having got married a couple of times previously. She was refused a marriage licence because of those previous marriages that she knew nothing about. It appears that somebody had been using her details and a copy of her birth certificate. She even got divorce papers filed on her for a marriage she never had anything to do with.

Eventually she was able to sort out the problems and get married but it must have been a very difficult time for her and her husband as they tried to clear her name.

These examples are surely just the tip of the iceberg that we have heard about. There must be thousands, if not millions, of cases every day where people have problems doing everyday things because some computer somewhere has the wrong information on it.

We are all so dependent on computers these days. There is hardly a business that does not use a computer these days and big business uses them by the truckload. Its a digital world and computers are used for almost every service we use and our details are being entered, edited and transferred all the time.

We can see how one small data entry error or the results of digital scammers can have impact on someones life. It is not their fault but they have to overcome the problem by reporting the fact that they are still alive, finding documentary evidence to prove they are alive and convince the people relying on computer records that the digital details they hold are wrong.

We are all rightly concerned about digital scammers draining our bank accounts of money but there are other issues we should be concerned about. They could change our whole digital history and in a digital world you only exist in that digital record. All the more reason to be extra careful in protecting all your personal details at all times and being very wary of dodgy emails and potential scams online.

This is surely an issue that is going to occur time and time again but it is hard to see what solution there is to the problem of incorrect digital records.

Its a sad dog story with a happy ending. A crossbred Wolf/Dog that kept escaping from its owners home and frightening people in the local neighborhood. After complaints a judge decided that the solution was that the dog be taken away from its owner and euthanized.

The dog, Chief, is a cross between a British Colombia wolf and a German Shepherd dog was held awaiting a death sentence when the local Angola Prison Warden who offered to take the dog to add to their prison guard dogs. Apparently they are quite keen on this crossbreed and already have several guard dogs of this type.

The judge agree to amend the order, sentencing Chief to be a guard dog at the prison for the rest of his life. He can expect to receive decent meals, good veterinary care and plenty of exercise so it ends as a reasonably happy dog story though the previous owner was not so happy as they had hoped to get their dog back.

Designer Taras Lesko decided to help the world achieve a small part of this dream by designing a Bugatti Veyron paper model and making the plans available for free so that anybody can build their own 2 foot long model of one of the most expensive and fastest supercars available.

You can see a time lapse video below of Tara assembling the model. The model Bugatti Veyron looks amazing and you can make your own by visiting his website at http://visualspicer.com where you can download the plans for free and make your own paper model Bugatti Veyron and enjoy hours of fun assembling it all.

Back in the day things had a physical presence. Things came in boxes and cans but in a digital world so many things are just one click away from being deleted by accident or on purpose. Your old collection of photographs could survive for years in an old cookie jar or in a photograph album but how safe are your pictures in a digital world? Anything stored digitally is always just one careless click away from deletion.

This was demonstrated recently at a screening of the blockbuster movie ‘The Avengers’. Apparently, at a private screening for journalists the person responsible for showing the movie pressed the wrong button and instead of projecting the movie they deleted it.

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, a film would have been stored as large reels of film in metal cans but in this digital age we live in they are now large computer files, no different from those files full of photos you have on your hard drive right now.

It wasn’t the only copy of the film and a replacement was found in this case but this should be a lesson for us all. We have hundreds or thousands of digital pictures taken with our digital cameras or phones but where we store them and how securely we back them up matters if we don’t want to run the risk of losing the whole lot in one accidental deletion or hard drive crash.

You can store them online but even that may not be entirely safe as all those people who stored their private files on MegaUpload found recently when the website was shut down. Some people may have been using that online storage system for distributing copyright property but not everyone was and the honest users were suddenly facing losing all of their private files and photos.

You cannot be too careful when it comes to digital backups and storage. We should all keep at least one secure copy of everything we consider important. It should be stored somewhere different to your main storage so that in the event of a fire, flood or a hurricane you have another copy safe elsewhere.

Everyone deletes things by mistake now and again. Make sure you do not lose everything through carelessness, misunderstanding which button to click or accident by keeping backups of everything you value that is sitting on your computer and online.

If you think this could not happen to you just watch the video below. It relates the story of how the original files of ToyStory2 were so very nearly permanently lost and when they checked their backup files they discovered they were defective. Learn from other people’s misfortune and get yourself a backup portable hard drive and copy everything you might ever need to it and store it somewhere well away from your main computer. Maybe ask a friend or relative to look after it. One day you may be glad you did.

We all make mistakes at times and we all need to know how to say sorry but how can you ever apologize enough when you drop somebody’s 2,630 year old statue that is irreplaceable?

When the magazine Art+Auction was doing a photo shoot of the 4 foot high statue somebody decided to move it and, apparently, in the process of moving it the staue was somehow damaged and it shattered on the floor.

The owner of the statue, which is valued as around $300,000, is understandably upset and has filed a suit against the owners of the magazine asking that they repair the damage.

It is an unfortunate thing to happen for all parties involved whatever the result of the law suit but we have all lost something here. A statue that has somehow survived for over 2,000 years is lost because of a careless moment or lack of thought.

I am sure that the people who were handling the statue will regret that moment for years but it is an example of how things can happen in the blink of an eye and the result of that moment in time can have long lasting repercussion.

You can read more about this story and see pictures of the statue both before and after the accident at NyDailyNews.com

Many of us use propane gas tanks for heaters and blow torches and we become very casual about using them but they have the potential to be extremely dangerous if they are not kept safe. The video below shows what can go wrong if the gas leaks and becomes ignited.

A truck stopped at a McDonalds drive through in Coachella, California and the owner noticed a hissing sound coming from one of two propane tanks in the back of the truck. When he went to investigate it was ignited by what is thought to be static electricity and the flames soon engulfed the truck. At about 2 minutes into the video you can see what appears to be the one of the propane tanks exploding in a huge eruption of flame. The truck was destroyed and the building suffered some damage.

The driver was taken to hospital by a passing motorist and is said to be suffering 2nd degree burns so, remember this video next time you are handling gas cylinders and stay safe.
